Job Summary
We are seeking an Academic Advisor to guide undergraduate students through academic planning, course selection, and degree completion requirements. The ideal candidate is communicative, organized, and genuinely motivated to support student success.
Responsibilities
Advise students one-on-one on curriculum, course selection, and career planning
Monitor academic progress and identify at-risk students
Assist with enrollment processes and course adjustments
Collaborate with faculty and other administrative departments
Maintain accurate records in systems such as Banner or Workday Student
Lead workshops on study skills, time management, and career planning
Ensure compliance with FERPA and institutional policies
Requirements
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or related field
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Basic knowledge of academic management systems (SIS)
Ability to manage multiple caseloads simultaneously
Preferred:
Master's degree in Higher Education Administration or Student Affairs
Prior experience in higher education institutions
Fluency in Spanish or another language (a plus for international student support)
NACADA certification (National Academic Advising Association)
