Maplecrest Community College is seeking a compassionate and student-centered Student Success Advisor to join our Advising and Retention Services team. In this role, you will serve as a key point of contact for students navigating academic planning, financial aid, career exploration, and campus resources. You will help students persist, progress, and achieve their educational goals — and you will be supported by a collaborative team that believes deeply in this work.
Provide proactive academic advising to an assigned caseload of 200 to 350 students.
Assist students with degree planning, course selection, and transfer pathway navigation.
Identify and intervene with at-risk students using early alert systems such as EAB Navigate or Starfish.
Connect students to campus resources including tutoring, counseling, disability services, and financial aid.
Facilitate advising workshops, orientation sessions, and group advising events.
Maintain accurate and timely advising notes and records in the student information system.
Collaborate with faculty and student affairs staff to support holistic student success initiatives.
Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related field.
Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine commitment to student equity and success.
Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population including first-generation, adult learners, and underrepresented students.
Experience with or strong interest in academic advising, case management, or student affairs.
Comfortable working in a hybrid environment managing both in-person and virtual student appointments.
Master's degree in Higher Education, Counseling, or Student Affairs, or currently enrolled in such a program.
Experience with EAB Navigate, Starfish, or similar student retention platforms.
Bilingual in English and Spanish or Somali.
Hybrid work model with 3 days on campus and 2 days remote.
